The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on the sidelines of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, held a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas. During the meeting, the political situation in the region and security issues were discussed, in an increasingly interconnected context of international challenges. Acting Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of alignment with the European Union in addressing these challenges and in advancing the European integration of the Republic of Kosovo. In this regard, Acting Prime Minister Kurti reaffirmed Kosovo's commitment to the reform agenda and the request for obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU membership, underlining our country's progress and the need for fair treatment, based on merit. They also discussed the latest political developments in the country, including the implementation of the law on foreigners and the agreement of March 14, which was assessed as a new and positive momentum for the way forward. During the meeting, the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia was also discussed, as well as the issue of Albanians in Presheva, Medvedja and Bujanovac, where Acting Prime Minister Kurti raised concerns regarding the passivation of addresses and the inability of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to provide financial support to the Valley. The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and served for an open exchange of views on topics of common interest, reaffirming the importance of continuing close communication and close cooperation between the state institutions of Kosovo and the European Union.
